Visitor and service center for aerospace and mobility

The idea

Opposite the historical reception building of the airport Brunswick and adjacent to the Lilienthalplatz, the Lilienthalhaus is under construction. This project is aimed to be a central "visitor and service center for aerospace and mobility" and was developed with support of the Forschungsflughafen Braunschweig GmbH. It gives service providers, engineering offices and scientific institutions from the area of aerospace and mobility the opportunity to work right next to the research and technology location.

The location

The “Forschungsflughafen BS 2020” study, commissioned by the City of Brunswick and the University of Technology Braunschweig, proves the uniqueness of the location. Local businesses and institutions have great potential in the areas of research, development and education. Moreover they are considered as the region´s biggest innovation cluster. The proximity to the airport and the direct access to the nearby highway A2 contribute to the ideal location of the property.

The project

With a total space of 5.100 m², spread over four floors, the "Lilienthalhaus" provides modern and flexible office spaces. The ground floor accomodates a seperable conference room with up to 100 seats and a bistro with 60 seats. The entrance area with an atrium serves as a reception and information point. Conferences, meetings and events can take place in this area as well.

The upper floors can be divided into various rental units. Trough the flexible structure single, combi or group offices are possible. On top of the building the skylounge with its sophisticated atmosphere offers a modern conference room for exclusive meetings.

The high technological demand in the field of research is reflected in the sustainable and the energy-efficient design of the building. To guarantee the highest standards in economy, ecology, social culture and technology, a certification according to the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen (DGNB) is strived.
